His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain, stated that the world has declared war on extremism. In a post from the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he declared that “Bahrain and its partners are confronting desperate attempts by those who seek to finance terrorism and spread violence and chaos.”
The statement comes after the Kingdom of Bahrain issued an official statement on cutting diplomatic relations with Qatar. As a result, territorial waters, ports, and airspace to and from Qatar have been closed. Consequently, Gulf Air and other airlines have suspended flights to and from Qatar starting June 6, 2017.
