Otherwise, you might find it challenging to adapt to the job or requirements of your employer. Still, even if you lack experience or the skills for domestic work, the good news is you can undergo training for this.
Through the Household Service training course offered by the Technical and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), you can improve and enhance your skills in various areas of domestic work. If you are interested in this program, make sure to read this guide until the end.

Many domestic workers have varying training backgrounds. This makes it difficult for an employer to determine the right training for their employees.
With this in mind, an employer will usually check the background of a domestic worker to see if they can meet the needs and expectations of their family, especially when they have kids or an elderly adult in the household.
Domestic Worker Training in the Philippines
Filipinos who want to work as domestic helpers must complete a training course. This is very different from other countries where people who want to work as domestic helpers can only get a training course.
The course usually costs around PHP 1,000. After completing the training, students need to pay another amount of PHP 100 to get their certification.
This course helps the workers get their contracts renegotiated. It also prevents them from getting subjected to harsh conditions.
Note: The TESDA is currently reviewing the online training program it launched in March 2021. The program will be fully implemented once its pilot batch is successful.
The Domestic Work NC II course is designed to prevent the exploitation of domestic helpers. It can be taken at various training centers across the country.
Domestic Work NC II Course Overview
What you can expect in this course: This course will help you improve your skills in various tasks, such as cleaning houses and preparing food, among many others including:
- Doing the laundry and ironing clothes, linen and drapery
- Handling food and beverage
- Maintaining an effective relationship with clients and customers
- Maintaining the house, dining room, bedrooms, toilet and kitchen clean.
- Making hot and cold meals/food
- Managing one’s performance and responsibilities
Course Duration: This course requires a minimum of 216 hours to complete.
Eligibility
Aside from being able to read and write, students and trainees also must have the necessary knowledge and commitment to complete the course.

- Copy of Birth Certificate authenticated by NSO
- Certified True Copy of Transcript of Records
- Certificate of Good Moral Character
